Adorable! I love when chunky knits can be used in high fashion pieces!
Grandma squares and curtain tassels, and the kind of lace that might end up on your Aunt’s kitchen table. Here I was thinking Christopher Kane was the only one capable of making such things sexy, but no - Laura Theiss has that uncanny ability, too.
Laura Theiss didn’t choose knitwear: it chose her. That’s according to a Bio I read after I saw this collection, then googled her name in awe of the fact that she wasn’t on my radar before this very moment. I love a designer who creates wonderful things from knitting and crochet - perhaps because I myself have not the slightest flair for it, so I’m always glad when someone out there is making up for my craft-time shortcomings. Laura Theiss does it not with the shiny perfection of Kane’s pieces but with a more home-grown craft feel. There’s much deliberate asymmetry that lends a futuristic feel to the collection. There are cropped tops and open-weave knits, and pieces that scrape the body diagonally as if they’re confused as to whether they’re dresses or tops.
In short, for something so crafty, it’s sexy.

Such an amazing idea!
A great photographic project by Los Angeles based artist Matthew Brandt. For his “Lakes and Reservoirs” series Brandt’s shoots the lakes and reservoirs and after developing them he soaks each image in the specific lake or reservoir water that they represent. Great colorful result.

What is it about pom-poms? I’ve mentioned my affinity for those delicious balls of fluff before, so I’m sure it’s clear by now that I absolutely adore seeing them in high fashion. It should also follow, then, that this amazing G.V.G.V jacket is the newest object of my affection.
The tweed jacket for women is almost like the cardigan, as it’s often associated with either preppies or a certain ladylike chic. GVGV updates the classic tweed jacket with detachable parts adorned with fringes and pompoms leaving all the other pretenders of glamour in the dust. Available at ln-cc, take a closer look on the next page.
