From Trendland:

It’s always nice to see a fashion spread that brings more to the plate than just the latest runway looks. In his Madame magazine spread, “Paper Dresses”, art director Matthew Brodie not only crafts his own props and set, he designs a whole collection of actual paper dresses, as well.
With some A3 sheets and a lot of perseverance, Matthew and his team—including a former pattern cutter and designer for John Galliano—create five complete dresses.

Braided heaven.
From TrendLand:

The latest ‘More or Less’ knitwear collection by Nanna van Blaaderen is inspired by organic forms, animal and nature. The designer used thick woolen yarns in off-white colors and experimented in combining knitting techniques with braiding techniques. Soft textures and raw expressive structures of these knitted sculptural pieces are applied in fashion, interiors and autonomous fields.

I never thought potholes could look so pretty!

This ‘Nid de Poule‘ (Pothole) project reminds me a lot of the Dispatchwork by Jan Vormann. With colorful strips of yarn Juliana Santacruz Herrera decided to decorate Paris’ potholes. Randomly placed in cracks and breaks it creates a fun and colorful change in the landscape contrasting with the decrepit cement.

Such an amazing idea!

A great photographic project by Los Angeles based artist Matthew Brandt. For his “Lakes and Reservoirs” series Brandt’s shoots the lakes and reservoirs and after developing them he soaks each image in the specific lake or reservoir water that they represent. Great colorful result.

Sometimes the most amazing fashion is also the most unwearable.

These beautiful 3D mosaics are the work of Texas artist Julie Richey. For her figurative ‘La Corrente’ dress sculpture in marble, glass smalti and seashells, Richey received Best 3-D Mosaic honors from the 2011 Mosaic Arts International, an annual international juried exhibition of contemporary mosaic art.
“La Corrente is about beauty amidst destruction,” says Richey. “It was created during the Gulf oil spill and it alludes to the many destructive forces, both man-made and natural, that creep in with the current.”

I saw a fox crossing the ice on a creek near my mom’s house when I arrived in PA yesterday.  I can’t really pinpoint why, but those beautiful creatures melt my heart.
