I love I love I love this Dior bustier featured in Harper’s Bazaar Spain June 2010.  So much so, in fact, that I’ve now featured it on my Tumblr twice.  See?

Every girl dreams of wearing crowns and tiaras.  Some of us dream bigger than others.

This corset reminds me of something an exceptionally disturbed mental patient would wear in a Victorian bodice-ripper.  A very fashionable mental patient, that is.  Add the bloody hem and it all falls into place, don’t you think?

A close-up of one of the hairdos from the Dior Fall/Winter 2010 show.  I love the 1930’s windswept pincurl pompadour paired with a chubby fishtail braid (my favorite kind).  If only wearing my hair like this each day was socially acceptable…

Dior’s F/W 2010 collection was definitely influenced by equestrian styles and 1930’s cuts, but what I found myself gravitating toward was the story behind the cacophany, which I can define something like this:

A totally gorgeous babe spends a romantic weekend gallivanting across the European countryside with a hot Englishman or Frenchman.  They spend most of their time riding horses and/or romping in bed, and she always looks immaculately disheveled in her seemingly endless supply of diaphanous silk nightgowns.  They live happily (and fashionably) ever after.

Le freaking sigh.  And please, did you SEE those ridiculous leather ruffles?  In the words of Jimmy from South Park, “I mean, come on!”

The Notebook made me cry.  When I finally got around to seeing it, my husband had been working in Boston for three months while I spent the summer alone in the apartment we shared in California.  What a way to fall in love with Rachel McAdams.
Rachel wears Dior (who else could dream up a lace bustier like that?) in Vogue’s cover story featuring the radiant Canadian actress.
